You can be good without God. Morality doesn't need religion.

简答 Short Answer

Non-believers can certainly do good. But the question isn't 'can you be good' but 'without God, what does good mean?' Without an objective standard, morality is just personal preference.

Detailed Answer

We fully acknowledge that non-believers can do good — the Bible says God's law is written on all hearts (Rom 2:15). The issue isn't behavioral but foundational.

Without God, morality has no objective basis. You say murder is wrong, but why? If morality is merely an evolutionary product, it's just a survival instinct — no real 'right or wrong.' If morality is just a social convention, different societies have different standards with none being more 'right.'

Only a transcendent, perfectly good God can ground objective morality. Deep down we know some things are absolutely wrong (like abusing innocent children) — this moral intuition is powerful evidence pointing to a moral God.
