唯独圣经（Sola Scriptura）是改革宗信仰的根基原则：圣经是信仰和生活唯一无谬误的、最终的权威。这不是说圣经是唯一的知识来源（这是“唯有圣经” Solo Scriptura的错误），而是说当任何教导与圣经冲突时，圣经拥有最终的裁判权。这个原则之所以重要，是因为几乎所有邪教和异端都通过在圣经之上或之外增加新的权威来偏离正统：摩门教加了摩门经，耶和华见证人有治理机构的“忠信奴仆”解释权，天主教加了教会传统和教皇的无谬权。圣经自身宣告它是上帝所默示的（提摩太后书3:16）、是足够的（诗篇19:7-11）、是永远长存的（以赛亚书40:8）。

Sola Scriptura is the foundational principle of Reformed faith: Scripture is the only infallible, final authority for faith and practice. This does not mean Scripture is the only source of knowledge (that is the error of 'Solo Scriptura'), but that when any teaching conflicts with Scripture, Scripture has final adjudicating authority. This principle matters because nearly all cults and heresies deviate from orthodoxy by adding new authorities above or alongside Scripture: Mormonism adds the Book of Mormon, Jehovah's Witnesses have the Governing Body's 'faithful slave' interpretive authority, Roman Catholicism adds church tradition and papal infallibility. Scripture itself declares it is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16), sufficient (Psalm 19:7-11), and enduring forever (Isaiah 40:8).
